The Town Lake is in process to become a riparian area because the drier years have allowed willows to arrange themselves along the length and middle of the lake and provide bird habitat. This will be a site to observe as it transforms. We have many migrating ducks . We have had some fish transplanted from Mineral lake, but might need winter rains to sustain them. There was a lot of bass fishing this summer, many caught and released including some large (7+ lb) catches.
David Bygott counts numbers of duck species daily in the delight of migration. Be sure to see David’s flickr Birds of Ruby. Well worth your time and curiosity.
Non-Monsoon seems appropriate 2020. 2″ rain and drying. The oaks are turning due to dryness and shorter days.
